About Mark J. Brandenburg
Biography
- Mark Brandenburg was raised in Mansfield, TX, where he developed a passion for history, reading, and football. After graduation, Mark attended Benedictine College in Atchison, KS, where he studied Criminal Justice and English.
- From 1996-2001, Mark served served as a police officer for the Olathe, KS Police Department. In 2001, Mark was hired as a special agent for the United States Secret Service. His second day of training was September 11, 2001.
- For the past 23 years, Mark has served as a US Secret Service agent with assignments at the Chicago Field Office, the Presidential Protective Division, the Dignitary Protective Division, and the Vice Presidential Protective Division.
- In February 2023, Mark published the humorous political thriller FENCE JUMPER.
- FENCE JUMPER won the 16th Annual National Indie Excellence Award in the political thriller category and the 2024 Feather Quill Award for Adult Fiction.
- Mark resides in Kansas with his wife of 24 years, Melissa. Their son attends Virginia Tech on an Army ROTC scholarship
